About This Tool
This tool helps people explore the connections between childhood experiences with punishment, oppression and trauma and our ideologies about authority, power, and political economies. Particularly, what we learn from how we are punished or “disciplined” as children. This Trauma Journal 2 builds on a social innovation tool I created called Power Styles. Our power style is our orientation and definition of power; it aligns with assertive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and submissive patterns as part of our “power personality”.
